Optimal Health Consult Q&A
What is an Optimal Health Consult?
Your optimal health consult consists of two 45-minute office visits with Dr. Ruidas. These visits will include a full medical evaluation with a pertinent physical exam as well as a detailed exploration of nutritional, lifestyle, environmental and emotional contributors that may be affecting your wellness. Dr. Ruidas will then develop a streamlined and research-based guide that you can use over the next one to two years to slowly integrate practices into your daily life that will help you optimize wellness. Many of the recommendations in your written guide will benefit others in your household as well as you start to create a healthier environment in your home.
Is an Optimal Health Consult right for me?
If you want to know what you can do to improve and maintain health and wellness in your life and possibly the lives of your household, you would benefit from an optimal health consult. Some topics that will be addressed in the optimal health guide include results of food sensitivity testing, dietary changes, recommendations for food choices, preparation and storage, herbal and nutritional supplementation, techniques for improved sleep, environmental toxin avoidance, exercise and movement recommendations, ways to improve health through spirituality, and techniques for effective stress management. Many moms use the guide to incorporate healthy living practices into the lives of their families.
Is an optimal health consult covered by insurance?
Since Dr. Ruidas is a medical doctor who bills insurance companies for services, most times a portion of your visits will be covered, but the additional time spent and alternative therapies involved in an integrative approach to wellness will not be covered. You will be responsible for that portion of your time with Dr. Ruidas, called the Integrative Medicine fee. Dr. Ruidas will also provide you with a written treatment plan which she recommends you use to make changes over time and share with your primary care doctor.
